SCIENCE TECHNICIAN – APPRENTICESHIP

£8401 pa temporary post for 2 years to cover apprenticeship scheme
30 hours per week 8.30 am-3.00 pm with 30 mins lunch Term Time only

If you are over 16 and under 19 and would like a career in a Science Department in a large successful school, we have a vacancy for an Apprentice who will participate in a two-year Apprenticeship scheme with a specialist provider.

You will work alongside qualified science technicians who will help you gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the job.  This may include:-

  • Preparation and distribution of materials, including solutions, specimens and apparatus for lessons
  • Maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment
  • Safe disposal of chemical and biological waste following Health & Safety guidelines
  • Monitoring the storage of equipment, books, solutions etc
  • Caring for plants and livestock
  • ICT skills
