SKI TRIP TO FRANCE

Prince Henry’s Ski Trip

There is a long tradition of ski trips at Prince Henry’s. Over the years hundreds of students have learned to ski in some of the best ski resorts in the world. Prince Henry’s trips have visited France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Canada and America.

In 2005, 69 students and 8 staff went to Les Menuires , a small village at the heart of the Trois Vallees ski area. The skiing was fantastic, with beginner groups and more advanced skiers making excellent progress with the help of skilled instruction from the red jacketed Ecole du Ski instructors.

The sun shone for most of the holiday and the views from the top of the lifts were truly out of this world. Highlights of the trip included skiing on the glacier at Val Thorens, the fantastic friendly staff at the Hotel Piolet, the infamous Prince Henry’s talent night and Mr Wynne Jones strutting his stuff at the disco.

In February 2006 we head over the Atlantic to the state of Maine. This will be Prince Henry’s third trip to Sunday River, a large ski area, just 3 hours drive from Boston. A record breaking 80 students will be making this trip, some skiing and some snowboarding. American resorts always have plenty of terrain parks offering jumps and pipes and Sunday River is no exception. However the best bit of the trip for many students is the visit to a designer shopping outlet, the original Freeport, where jeans, trainers and many designer labels are ridiculously cheap.
