Before we start our PowerPoint presentations, we are going to look at other ways of presenting information about ourselves. One way we could do this is by producing an A4 poster.

Look around the classroom and see what posters there are on the walls. Using these to help you, think about what elements a good poster should have.

Task A: Good Points / Improvements
Open the Bart Poster, a word file. Bart Poster
Look at the poster. List three things you like about the poster and three improvements you could make.
Task B: Creating your own poster

You are now going to create your own A4 poster using Microsoft Word. Think about the points that have been raised in class, and remember your audience.

Save your file with a sensible file name!

Task C: Audience / Discussion

Today the audience was your fellow classmates. There could be other people who want to know information about you, such as your Form Tutor, Class Teacher, Head of Year or Headteacher. What other methods could you use, what would you take into consideration? How would the style be different? What about if you were a famous pop idol such as Gareth Gates and your fans wanted to know information about you?

Extension Task:
Use this word file to record your answers about different types of audience. Right click and select 'save target as', then open the word file and record your answers.
