LEARNING OUTCOMES
  • To appreciate aspects of German history and culture.
  • To improve listening and speaking skills in German.
  • To understand and appreciate some of the similarities and differences between the UK and Germany.

The three AS students of German travelled to Berlin in July, accompanied by German teacher Miss Francis, for a four-day study visit. During the trip they stayed in a Youth Hostel, and visited many of the city’s sights and famous landmarks in preparation for their A2 Coursework topic on Berlin.

The programme included visits to the Checkpoint Charlie Museum, the new Holocaust Memorial, the Brandenburg Gate, “Topography of Terror” Museum, East Side Gallery and the Wilhelm Memorial Church.

Students will now draw on what they learned during their A2 German course.
