LEARNING OUTCOMES	To appreciate some of the similarities and differences between the UK and France. To be able to use some basic language for the purposes of real communication (eg. greeting hotel staff, asking for their key). To be able to make a crêpe, under supervision, and a croissant in a traditional French bakery.
Forty one students and seven staff travelled to Ambleteuse for a four-day visit centred around the coastal town of Boulogne-sur-Mer. Organised by Mrs Çetin and Mrs Clarke, the programme included visits to the Nausicaa Sea Life Centre, the old fortified town of Boulogne and Le Touquet, a bowling evening and an excursion to Parc Bagatelle amusement park. Students were also involved in a number of activities with a specific focus on French food. These included visits to a traditional sweet factory and a bakery, where they had a go at making croissants. One of the highlights of the trip was the crêpe evening where they had the opportunity to make (and then eat!) their own crêpes.
