SPECIAL EVENTS

As a Specialist Language College we are fortunate to be able to complement and enrich our languages curriculum with a number of special events throughout the year. These include touring performances and plays in school, as well as excursions to places such as the German Christmas Market in Leeds.

We work in partnership with other organisations to give as many students as possible access to these special opportunities. These include The West Yorkshire Playhouse and Leeds City Council International Relations Department. We are also able to use some of our additional Language College funding to invite touring foreign language theatre companies into school.

Through these events we aim for our students:

• To appreciate aspects of other cultures.
• To appreciate some of the similarities and differences between life in the UK and other countries.
• To experience enjoyment and build confidence in learning languages.
