FRENCH PLAY: "VIVE LA FRANCE!"

In May 2005 the schools’ theatre company “La Courgette Volante” broug ht their touring production of “Vive la France!” to Prince Henry’s, funded by Language College.

The play enthralled over 230 students in Years 7 and 8 who learn French as their first Modern Foreign Language, who made up the audience. As well as enjoying the singing, dancing, balancing and juggling, some students also had the chance to get up on stage and join in the performance!

One Year 8 student said:

“I really liked it because we had already learned some of the French words they used in our lessons, so there was lots of language that I recognised. I also thought it was really funny, and a good way to learn a bit about French culture and how people live in France.'
