GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP IN ACTION

We encourage students to consider how the way they lead their

lives can have consequences for people from different parts of the

world. Issues such as the Environment, Aid, Justice and Fair Trade are part of the programme of the half-termly Enhanced Curriculum Days, as well as the subject of special assemblies. Many of these subjects are also covered in the curriculum, such as in Geography, Modern Foreign Languages and Religious Studies.

Of course, learning about these issues is one thing, but acting upon them is another! Therefore, we encourage students to be active, responsible global citizenships by actually DOING something about the matters which concern us all. This can mean joining the lunchtime Amnesty International group, supporting the Make Poverty History campaign, or perhaps considering buying Fair Trade alternatives to the products that they normally use.
