The Chemistry Race is a competition for teams of Sixth Form students at independent, selective and non-selective schools and Sixth Form Colleges organised by the Departments of Chemistry at University of Cambridge and University of Oxford.

Teams race against each other in solving chemistry problems; whoever gets the most points within the time limits wins. The Prince Henry’s team, who named themselves ‘I’m Bond, Hydrogen Bond’, consisted of 5 Year 13 students: Archie Clarke, Olivia Cummins, Jack Cumming, Ollie Horvath and Luke Stanton.  

Claire Willis, Assistant Headteacher: Post-16 at Prince Henry’s, said “We are very proud of our students for achieving such fantastic success. We are also very grateful to our staff, who give up so much of their own time to provide such a wide range of opportunities for our Sixth Formers, enabling them to have fun and to progress to the futures of their choice. This team of students have offers from Russell group universities across the country, including Oxford, Durham and Manchester universities.”

The Chemistry Race is just one of more than 30 enrichment activities offered to students in Prince Henry’s Sixth Form.
