  • GLOBAL JUSTICE GROUP LEADS THE WAY

    Schools in Otley got together to kick off Fairtrade Fortnight with a session of workshops in Otley Parish Church, led by Sixth Form students from Prince Henry’s Global Justice Group. Pupils from Pool in Wharfedale C E Primary, St Joseph’s Primary and Westgate Primary schools had a presentation about Fairtrade and then enjoyed a series of workshops.

    Year 10 student Marion Ridgway is making her coaches at Prince Henry’s Grammar School, Otley, and West Park Rugby, Leeds, extremely proud, as she has been selected for the England Rugby North Junior Academy Programme. Marion will be training and playing with U15 girls from across the North of England, progressing along the England Rugby player pathway.

    Four students are celebrating after their short film was shortlisted for the Leeds Young Filmmakers’ Golden Owl Awards. The Golden Owl Awards is an filmmaking competition for young people aged 19 and under and celebrates the best of young people’s filmmaking across the city.

    Students from across the years at Prince Henry’s were rewarded for their achievements in all areas at the annual Prince Henry's Celebration Evening at the Leeds City Museum Central Arena. Over 500 students, invited guests, proud parents and carers and staff enjoyed the experience as sponsors and Guest Speaker, Scientist and TV Presenter Dr Marty Jopson. handed out prizes for academic and personal achievements and service to School and the Community.

  • NEW PRIZE ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO SOAR

    The first recipient of a prestigious prize will be collecting their award at Prince Henry’s Celebration Evening this Thursday. Charlotte Borwell will receive the Watson Bainbridge prize, donated by John Marshall, who attended Prince Henry’s Grammar School between 1959 and 1966. The prize is given in recognition of the teaching and wise advice that Mr Watson (Geography teacher) and Mr Bainbridge (Economics teacher) gave John whilst he was in the Sixth Form.

  • PHGS BARBARIANS VS OTLEY RUFC - BOXING DAY

    Otley RUFC are hosting a Prince Henry’s Grammar School Barbarians vs Otley match at Cross Green on Boxing Day, with the support of Otliensians RUFC. Everyone is welcome for what should be an entertaining game on and off the pitch. The PHGS Barbarians side of ex-students and staff is being coached by the one and only ex-PHGS legend Pete Latham, MBE.

    Our Year 7 students are enjoying a cultural pen pal exchange with students from a school in South Eastern Italy. Year 7 students have made Christmas postcards to send to the children of class One and Class Two at Tommasso Del Bene Middle School in Maruggio, a small town in the Apulia region of Southern Italy.
