STUDENTS HEAD FOR THE BELGRAVE MUSIC HALL

The Prince Henry’s Bands Night at the Otley Courthouse was a great success, raising over £1000 for Martin House Children’s Hospice as part of Centre Stage 2019. Eight student bands played to a packed house, including the first time that Year 7 students have played at the event, enjoying a performance from the Manic Creep Teachers Staff band as well.

One band, Men in Glass Houses, will be playing at the Centre Stage Heat at the Belgrave Music Hall on Thursday 25 April, hoping to get through to the final at the O2 Academy in Leeds in July. Men in Glass Houses is made up of Prince Henry's students Harrisen Crowder and Will McPherson, Year 9, and Marcus Dodd, Year 10. Tickets are available on the door for £6.

“It was an electric night at the Courthouse and we are really pleased to have raised so much money for Martin House. This is the 8th year we have run the bands night, it’s a great tradition and such a good cause. The bands were fantastic – it was brilliant to have students from so many years both performing in the bands and enjoying the music. We wish Men in Glass Houses luck – the competition gives them the opportunity to go right through to Leeds Festival, if they are successful!” said Chris Smith, Area Leader for English, who organises the night.
