Targeted families across local primary and secondary schools, who work with the Otley, Pool and Bramhope Cluster’s Parent Support Adviser will receive vouchers to create their own hampers from local businesses such as Middlemiss Butchers, O’Fresh Deli and Asda.

“When the Lions approached us to see if we could help with their campaign to help local people who have been affected by the pandemic, this seemed like the perfect solution.” said Angie Wilson, Parent Support Worker. “It’s been a tough year for everyone and this lets us spread a little Christmas cheer to those who really need it.”

As well as working with Mrs Wilson on the Lions’ project, Sixth Formers at Prince Henry’s have also been collecting donations for the Otley Food Bank, as part of their ASDAN course. Staff and students at Prince Henry’s have given generously to the cause.

“Christmas is supposed to be a time of happiness and enjoying time with your family not worrying about where your next meal will come from or how you will pay the bills. There are local families struggling due to reduced hours or the loss of one or more jobs that need some support and we are glad we were able to help." Richard Phillips, President of Otley Lions Club.
