UPDATED: RETURN TO SCHOOL JAN 2022

Please note updated advice regarding testing.

Previous public health advice was that anyone who had tested positive for Covid-19 within the preceding 90 days did not need to take part in asymptomatic testing. However, the Government has now issued new advice that ALL students/staff should take part in testing (i.e. even if they have tested positive within the past 90 days - unless currently self-isolating).

Therefore, regardless of any previous positive test results for Covid-19, please ensure that your child undertakes a LFD test at home on Tuesday 4th January if he/she is not attending school for an on-site test.

A reminder of the arrangements for the return to school:

  • If you requested an on-site test for your child, this will take place on Tuesday 4th January 2022. Appointment times are in the letter here. Your child should only attend school for their test, and must then leave the school site immediately.
  • If you have NOT requested an on-site test for your child, please ensure that he/she takes a LFD test at home on Tuesday 4th January 2022. Your child should NOT come into school on this day.
  • All students in all year groups should return to school at the usual time on Wednesday 5th January, when lessons will resume (unless your child tests positive for Covid-19, or is displaying symptoms at the time).

For clarity, this means that there will be no lessons on Tuesday 4th January for any year group. Students should only come into school (at the appropriate time) if they have an on-site test, and only where you have already requested this. No other student should attend site on this day. Finally, please note that remote learning will NOT be set on Tuesday 4th January.
