PHYSICAL EDUCATION - KS3 COURSE OVERVIEW

Year 7 Students are taught mainly in mixed ability/gender tutor groups, but are separated for the games block of netball and rugby. Students study the following activities for 5 to 6 weeks: Badminton, gymnastics, swimming, athletics, striking games and hockey.

Year 8 Students are taught in single sex groups and study the same activities as they did in year 7. However, the girls are taught in mixed ability class groups for gymnastics, swimming and athletics and are set for all the games activities. The boys are grouped for rugby or hockey/basketball and are taught in these combinations all year.
