PROSPECTUS - ATTENDANCE

All Sixth Form Students

All students are expected to attend from 08.30 am to 2.50 pm each day unless prevented from doing so because of illness or because of educational visits or other circumstances authorised by school.

  • On the first day of any unexpected absence, your Parent/Carer should ring Student Registry (01943 855682) giving the reason for your absence and an estimate of the number of days you are likely to be absent
  • When you return to School, you must bring a letter for your Form Tutor to explain why you have been away
  • If you know in advance that you are going to be away, you should bring a letter to your Form Tutor requesting permission and giving the reason and details

In cases where a telephone message explaining an absence is not received, the Form Tutor will make a request for Student Registry to telephone home.

A written explanation for an absence is required in all cases although students who have reached the age of 18 may provide their own letters provided written confirmation has been received from a parent/guardian giving consent for the student to do this.

Reports on punctuality and attendance at registration and at lessons will form part of your assessments.

During examination periods students are expected to attend for their examinations only.

PUNCTUALITY

  • Always make sure you are at your Form Room or Classroom no later than the times shown on the Timetable
  • When you arrive in School, you must make sure that you are marked present by attending Registration
  • Your Tutor will mark you as late in the register if you arrive at Registration after 08.30 am and 1.15 pm but before the end of these registration sessions
  • After 08.50 am and 1.15 pm, you must go to Student Registry and sign in the Late Book, stating the time and reason for your lateness
