THE DRESS CODE

Post-16 students at Prince Henry’s are reminded that they have chosen to continue their studies at an 11-18 school. In making this choice, they must recognise their responsibility in acting as ambassadors to the school and as positive role models at all times, including in the area of school dress.

In order to ensure that our dress code is easily understood, we have outlined below the guidelines within which all post-16 students are expected to operate:

Sixth Form Dress Code for students from September 2010

Sixth Form
Boys and Girls	Trousers	Traditional dark tailored – no denim, tracksuit bottoms, shorts or cargo pants permitted.
Girls	Skirt	Tailored plain dark colour worn between mid calf and 5 cm above the knee.
	Dress	Smart plain or with discreet patterns worn between mid calf and 5 cm above the knee.
Boys	Shirt	Tailored shirt with discreet pattern, traditional collar and no large logo.
	Tie	Smart tie.
Girls	Shirt or blouse	Plain tailored or fitted shirt or blouse with discreet pattern, collar and with no large logo.
	Jumper or Cardigan	Plain with no large logos.
	Make up	Discreet make up in natural colours only.
Both	Footwear	Plain dark coloured – heels no higher than 5cm (no trainers, mules, sandals or UGG boots).
	Belt	Dark coloured with no large buckles.
	Hair	Hairstyles must not reflect the extremes of youth cultural and should be in natural colours only.
	Outdoor wear	No outdoor wear such as coats, hats, scarves and gloves may be worn in the building before 3.00pm. Denim, non uniform jumpers, baseball caps or ‘hoodies’ must not be worn at any time within the school grounds.
	Identity badge	Photo I.D. to be worn visibly at all times while on school premises.
Both	Discreet Jewellery	No visible piercings other than earrings worn in the ear lobe. No visible tattoos.
