TECHNOLOGY PRODUCT DESIGN - FUSE TESTER
Yr. 7 Fuse TesterYr. 7 pupils are introduced to electronics, by manufacturing a small device which can test fuses.
The base unit is vac-formed from styrene sheet and a simple circuit allows pupils to develop their soldering skills.
Pupils design an original shape for the top of the casing, which is then fixed onto the top of their mould, ready for forming.
Pupils must also complete a design booklet alongside the making, which contains a range of research activities and design tasks.
