TECHNOLOGY PRODUCT DESIGN PROJECTS - MIRRORS

Yr. 9 Adjustable Mirror Units Yr. 9 pupils, focus on using ‘plastics’ to manufacture an adjustable mirror unit of their own design. The adjustment is usually achieved by using a vac-formed dome or pivoting design, examples of which are shown.

Pupils must also complete a design booklet alongside the making, which contains a range of research activities and design tasks. Pupils are encouraged to model and test their ideas in card etc. prior to manufacturing, to ensure that their idea works as planned.
