Y7 OPEN EVENING WAS A HUGE SUCCESS - DON'T MISS SIXTH FORM OPPORTUNITY

Over 800 people flocked to our Open Evening taking part in lots of exciting activities and finding out all about life at Prince Henry's.

Pupils from more than 30 primary schools across Otley, North Leeds, Harrogate and the Wharfe valley came with their parents and carers and enjoyed activities across the school. They also saw a presentation from Headteacher Janet Sheriff and performances and demonstrations from students and staff.

There was a great deal of fun to be had finding similes for sweets, squishing and exploding things in Science, trying and making food in many languages, playing dodgeball in PE and trying out a multitude of hands on activities across the curriculum. Rebecca and Harriet Newcombe enjoyed themselves considering the big questions of life and hanging their questions on the Philosophy Tree.

Visiting parents were wowed by the interactive activities and the friendly atmosphere of the school. One commented “Very informative. Some very confident, articulate, polite students. Bodes well!.” A Year 6 child wrote “Very very x1000 good.”

“Our annual Open Evening is a great chance for prospective students and their parents to see everything that is on offer at Prince Henry’s. It is always popular, but this year was busier than ever! Over 450 families enjoyed finding out about the fantastic opportunities we offer our students.”  said Christopher Lillington, Assistant Headteacher.

The annual Sixth Form Open Evening, where prospective Sixth Form students and their parents and carers can find out more about the opportunities on offer in the Sixth Form at Prince Henry’s is on Thursday 7 November 2019 at 6.30pm.
