RETURN TO SCHOOL SEPTEMBER 2021

This is the place to find all the information regarding return to school in September 2021, as it is published.

Please see below the Return To School September 2021 booklet, which contains essential information for parents and carers about the arrangements for the new academic year at Prince Henry’s. This information will help you to support your son or daughter so that they have a positive, successful and safe experience at school.

Asymptomatic Testing:

Within the booklet is a reminder of the arrangements for the student on-site lateral flow device testing programme at the start of term. If your child is not participating in the on-site Lateral Flow Testing programme at the start of term, please support them to undertake a test at home on the evening before they return to school. Test kits are available free of charge from a local pharmacy or school reception.

All students (whether or not they participated in the on-site Lateral Flow Testing programme) are encouraged to undertake twice weekly home testing until the end of September (when it will be reviewed). Test kits will be made available to all students, but if you do not wish your child to participate then they should not collect a test kit. The first distribution of home test kits will be on Friday 10th September to enable the Sunday and Wednesday evening testing cycle to begin.

Regular asymptomatic testing remains an important part of the school’s risk mitigation, so I hope that you will encourage your child to engage with the home testing programme.

I very much look forward to welcoming our students and staff back to school next week, to start what I hope will be a more normal year with great progress and achievement for all.

Best wishes

Mrs J Sheriff
Executive Headteacher

In School Testing

Testing Slots for those who have agreed to take part in the in school testing are below and on the Testing Section of our website here.

Students taking part in the in school testing should follow these protocols:

  • Students should turn up five minutes in advance of their slot
  • Students will be required to wear a mask and socially distance within the test centre
  • Where possible they should walk onto the school site through either the bottom or top gate and enter the sports hall through the far fire exit
  • If distance means that parents/carers must drive their child to school, subject to space, you can wait in the main car park
  • We would appreciate if parents/carers do not get out of the car and must leave as soon as their child returns to the car
  • Students do not need to wear their school uniform when attending the site for their first test

If your child tests positive you will be asked to organise a PCR test. If the PCR test is negative your child will be able to attend school once this has been confirmed.

You do not need to inform us if, for any reason, your child cannot attend your test slot. The tests are voluntary and all students can return to school whether they choose to take part in the testing or not. We will not be following up or re-arranging the tests unless you make contact with us and request this.
