WE ARE THE SCHOOL OF ROCK!

We're the School of Rock. And we think you are really gonna enjoy this one. So come on! It’s time to get your tickets for this year’s fabulous rock musical, School of Rock, based on the Paramount film by David White and starring Jack Black, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, book by Julian Fellowes of Downton Abbey fame and lyrics by Glenn Slater (Sister Act, stage version of The Little Mermaid).

When it opened in the West End, the show was hailed as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s best show for years and we’ve got a huge cast of talented young people playing, dancing and singing their way to rock stardom! Appreciate a little bit of rebellion when they Stick it the Man, enjoy a rock version of Mozart’s Queen of the Night, discover that Maths is a Wonderful Thing and make sure You’re in the Band when our cast, band and crew Climb to the Top of Mount Rock!

Tickets cost just £8 for adults and £6 for concessions and children and are available from the desk by Student Reception at break and lunchtime or from School Reception from Monday 13 January 2022. I am pleased to confirm that school can provide a 50% subsidy on student tickets for students in Years 7 to 11, who are currently in receipt of free school meals. If applicable, please mention ‘FSM’ when buying tickets. The production is entirely funded by ticket sales, so do come along and enjoy the show. We have slightly reduced the capacity in the current circumstances, so please make sure that you get the tickets you want as soon as possible. There will be no capacity to add additional seats to any sold out performances. There will be reserved seating again this year, so get your tickets early! Make a note in your child’s planner to let us know where you’d like to sit (for example, front row, back row, raised seating) - if the seats you want have sold, we will make sure you get the next best available seats.

For those who haven’t been before, there are flat rows of seats at the front on the floor, the rest are raised on tiered seating. If you need wheelchair access, just let us know. Payment can be made by cheque (payable to PHGS) or cash.

COVID-19: At present, we would request that adults attending the show to wear a face covering on corridors and during the show, unless exempt. We would also recommend taking a lateral flow test prior to attending. Depending on the guidance at the time, further information regarding audience expectations will be produced at the start of the show week. This will be emailed to all school parents and carers and shared on our website in a news story – please make sure that all members of your party are aware of the regulations at the time.

Every year, the cast and crew here at Prince Henry’s Grammar School pull out all the stops to provide a really entertaining evening. Grab your drumsticks, pick up your air guitar, brush off your power ballads and strut your way back to school!
