Student support and guidance
Welcome to the student section of the careers page. As a student, it is vital that you can prepare for a lifelong career that may include periods in employment, training, full-time or part-time study and self-employment. Many of the jobs and business opportunities that will be open to you in the future do not even exist yet! What you can do help you to prepare for your next steps:
- Being aware of your own preferences and skills and also what you are not keen on (Self-Awareness).
- Understand where to find information about careers that might suit you (Career Exploration).
- Understand the relevant training and qualifications required to get you to where you want to be.
In keeping with our commitment to provide you with outstanding careers guidance and tailored support when choosing your next step after school, we are now using Unifrog. All students from Years 7 to 13 now have access to this excellent resource. You will be using Unifrog in lessons from Year 7 to help you to develop your knowledge.
We have also set up a parent login so please encourage your parents/carers to access this resource. They can find out more information on the parent tab of the careers page.
Skillsometer
When you are starting on this journey, you might want to try the Skillsometer below. It can help you to discover what jobs you might like to do in the future. You will be presented with a series of statements. You should select the emoji which shows how you feel about each statement. You will then be given suggestions of jobs linked to what you most enjoy doing. For each job, you will be presented with some headline UK data.
