PRINCE HENRY'S WELCOMES NEW HEADTEACHER

We have welcomed our new Headteacher, Sally Bishop, to lead the school. Sally has joined the school from Ilkley Grammar School, where she was Deputy Headteacher for 7 years as well as providing school to school support for other secondary schools.

Sally has extensive experience from across the country, working in a range of schools and in a variety of posts. With a background initially as a music teacher, she is an accomplished violinist who has bridged the gap between classical and pop music and is currently in a band who write their own material.  She is passionate about travelling, mountain biking, and has recently become a first time horse owner; a pastime which is proving demanding but rewarding as well as a huge learning curve.

She will be working with the team at Prince Henry’s to build on the success of the school, following Janet Sheriff’s move to focus on the continued development of the Collaborative Learning Trust, the multi academy trust formed by Prince Henry’s Grammar School and Bramhope Primary School in 2019.

She said “I am excited to be building on the work of Mrs Sheriff, who is now concentrating full time on developing our Trust, and I am looking forward to getting to know the whole community.  Among my priorities will be focussing on communication and on mental health and wellbeing.”

Sally Bishop will be the 38th Headteacher at Prince Henry’s, in a history spanning over 400 years.
