PRAISE FOR PRINCE HENRY'S

Staff and Governors at Prince Henry’s were congratulated today, for showing resilience and commitment in the face of recent challenges, and for the excellent results which were achieved in Summer 2022.

Dave Clark, Head of Service for Learning Improvement and Erica Hiorns, 0-19 Lead for Learning Improvement, praised the school in a warmly worded letter.

“We are writing to congratulate you and your staff on the very strong outcomes gained by your pupils in the summer of 2022.

We know the last three years have been ones of extreme turbulence and also that our region was
disproportionally affected by high Covid rates. The forbearance you have shown during this time has been admirable and what is most impressive is that despite the challenges Prince Henry's Grammar School has moved forward at pace.

We are aware that this does not happen by chance and is the result of strong leadership and the commitment and dedication of staff and governors.”

Headteacher Sally Bishop said “I am immensely proud of the recognition from Leeds City Council that students and staff at Prince Henry’s have risen to significant challenges and secured outstanding outcomes in their examinations, with so many going above and beyond to maximise success.  Congratulations to all students, and a sincere thanks to all staff for making a difference in so many ways.”

The letter followed results which saw students at the school achieve an A Level pass rate of 99.8% and the highest percentage of A* - C grades ever, as well as double dictinctions in BTEC subjects, while GCSE students achieved beyond expectations and made exceptional progress regardless of starting points. Full details of this summer’s results are here and how to join the Prince Henry’s Sixth Form are here.
