100s flock to Open Evening
Our recent Open Evening at was a great success, with over 800 children, parents and carers flocking to find out more about joining the school next year in Year 7.
Staff and students led interactive sessions across the school with visitors in every subject area, with hands on activities from pianos to sweet similies, crispy crickets in a variety of flavours, chopstick challenges in foreign languages, brands vs own brands in business, PE with school sports leaders and mathematical murder mysteries.
Charlie Wilkinson, from Burley Oaks Primary School, enjoyed creating a twisting mobile in Design and Technology
Parents and children alike had a great time saying “A great relationship between staff and pupils. Wonderful students, credit to the school” and “Friendly staff, great talk, brilliant guides. It was super!”. One child said “ I liked the nice teachers that talked to me.”
“It was fantastic to have such a great attendance from people interested in coming to our school and to see our talented staff and confident students welcoming them. I really enjoyed meeting so many of our potential new parents and pupils. Older students who are interested in joining our friendly and high achieving Sixth Form can come along on Thursday 7th November, when we hold our annual Sixth Form Open Evening.” said Sally Bishop, Headteacher.
The Prince Henry’s Grammar School Sixth Form Opening Evening takes place from 6.30pm until 8.30pm on Thursday 7th November and students in Year 11 from any school are welcome to attend.
