Sporting Successes!
Students and staff are celebrating after a run of successes for the school’s sporting teams. The school was recently named as one of the top 5% of state schools for sport in School Sports Magazine and offers a wide variety of sport to students and has, again, been nominated for the best Sporting School at the Leeds Sports Awards for the extra-curricular programme.
The U12 Girls’ and U13 Girls’ Netball Teams won their Leeds School Sports Netball Leagues, at the end of fiercely contested season.
The U12 Boys’ Rugby Team won the plate competition at St Peter’s 7s, beating several other teams to come out victorious.
Three of the school’s boys’ rugby teams are in the final of their age groups’ Yorkshire Cup. The U14 Boys’ Rugby Team beat South Hunsley 45-7, the U15s beat BBG Academy 22- 1 and the U16 rugby Team beat Harrogate Grammar School 22-10.
Several rugby teams are enjoying hate competition at the Rosslyn Park National Seves' teams, including the first all girls' rugby team to play from the school, two of who have been scoutted by their age groups' national 7s team.
“We are really proud of everyone for these fantastic results. Over 400 students train in a variety of sports, including both boys’ and girls’ football and rugby, netball, badminton and more, and it’s great to see them having this success again.” Said Dave Curtis, Faculty Leader for PE.
