KS4 Options 2022 - 2024
In this area we have put together a range of information relating to the options process for current year 9 (students who will start year 10 in September 2022). This includes:
- A video overview of the options process
- Presentations from subject specialists
- Additional information to complement the Options Booklet.
- Thoughts of recent KS4 students
All of the information outlined above supports that found in the Options Booklet which students will be receiving in the final week of the autumn term.
The Options Booklet will clearly outline the options process, give further information about choices and subjects available and will explain the next steps students should take to confirm their choices.
From the website you are advised to start by viewing the ‘Introduction to Year 9 options 2022’ video and then work through the other videos and information - particularly looking at subjects you are interested in.
As you research the options available you are encouraged to make notes and identify any questions you may need to find an answer to during the process - either at the Options Evening (Thursday 6th January 2022) or through activities that will take place in school in the Spring term.

Subject presentations
The below videos contain information on the content of the different subject’s students can study at KS4. Please note that they were compiled for last year’s options process (which due to lockdown was conducted entirely via remote methods). You may find some of the peripheral information to be out of date (e.g. references to last academic year, Firefly or members of staff who are no longer at the school), however, the important course information is accurate.
You are advised to view the videos for the Core subjects and any optional subjects that you are interested in. As you view them it is suggested that you make a note of any questions that you can bring to Options Evening which takes place on Thursday 6th January 2022 (see previous letter invite).
