Eco Schools

As part of our Global Citizenship work, students explore issues of sustainable development and environmental awareness, both through the curriculum and through special projects. For example, during our annual Timanyane Day, some Year 10 students worked with Otley in Bloom and Chevin Park Rangers, whilst others conducted environmental traffic surveys in partnership with a local councillor.

Members of our student ‘Eco-mmittee’ are now working towards achieving the highest level of the Eco Schools Award, the Green Flag Award. Areas of focus include improving facilities for recycling, encouraging more students to cycle to school and identifying measures to reduce energy consumption.
