    3D Art for All

    All Levels. 7-9pm - Tuesday. Sue Dixon.
    An opportunity to be creative exploring three dimensional sculptural techniques. A variety of materials and processes will be introduced including wire drawing, plaster relief, soap carving, casting with alginate, card relief and construction, papier mache and more. Weekly material costs will vary according to the process used and activity undertaken (£5 and under), not every week. Payable to the tutor.

    African Drumming - advancing

    Improvers. 7-9pm - Monday. Alison Lyon.
    This class is mainly for returning drummers, or for you, if you already have a decent bass, tone and slap, can confidently play a range of common parts of traditional rhythms in 4 4 and 6 8, and know one of the popular notation systems used in the UK to read and write African rhythms. We’ll be having fun with some more complex and unusual rhythms and breaks, as well as some djembe solo techniques. Drum hire of £2.30 per week included, fee reduced by £23 if not needed.     African Drumming - beginners (Autumn Term)

    If you’ve got a heart-beat, you’ve got rhythm! Learn to tap your natural human potential with Drums Agogo - hand drum tuition on genuine African instruments. Bring your own drum or hire one of ours, enjoy foot-stomping funky fun from day one! In the second hour, practise your new skills by drumming with the advancing class. Then, in Term Two, you will join the advancing class, from 7-9pm. 
    Drum hire of £2.30 per week included, fee reduced by £23 if not needed.

    Card Making for Beginners - Jan 2026

    Beginners. 7-9pm - Wednesday. Christine Waite.
    Always wanted to make your own greeting cards? Learn to use papercrafting skills including stamping and die cutting to create greeting cards and other items.  Each week we will work on different projects using different skills, giving you the opportunity to develop and put your own personal touch to your final designs. Students will need to bring their own craft scissors and paper glue (can be purchased through the tutor). 
    Materials cost of £3 per session, payable to the tutor.

    Creative Journaling (starts 23 September)

    All Levels. 7-9pm - Tuesday. Patti Smith.
    Creative journaling is a practice where you can express yourself without judgement or rules using sketches, collage, photos and writing.  There is no right or wrong way to creating a journal, it’s about letting emotions and thoughts take whatever form they wish. Each page is a personal expression of thoughts and is often kept for personal reflection but can be shared.  Journaling has been shown to help process emotions and reduce stress.  It is a powerful form of mindfulness and self-care. Course cost includes materials for the term (not journal).

    Dru Yoga

    Beginners & Improvers. 7.30-9.00pm - Monday - Claire Marsh.
    Fun, friendly classes to help you stretch, strengthen, calm the mind, relax and feel good.  Never focusing on the ‘perfect posture’, Dru is accessible for all ages, shapes and sizes.  Bring mat, blanket, cushion and drink.

    Fleece to Fibre

    Beginners. 7-9pm - Wednesday. Sue Dixon.
    A picture of sheep fleece with a felt bag and woolA course introducing creative ways to use sheep fleece. Learn a variety of techniques and processes with wool from raw to finished product. Techniques include carding, spinning, weaving, peg loom, wet felting and needle felting. Weekly material cost will vary dependent on activity and materials used (£4 and under), not every week. Payable to the tutor. Initial fleece cost no more than £5.

    Fly Tying

    Beginners & Improvers. 7-9pm - Wednesday - Phil Holding.
    Learn how to tie your own ‘flies’ with expert tuition to help you to get started in this delicate skill. The Spring Term develops your skills for more complicated flies. Materials and equipment will be available for you to purchase in class. 

    Gelli-plate Printing

    All Levels. 7-9pm - Monday. Patti Smith.
    Gold and orange print with wavy linesGelli-plate printing is a fun and experimental technique you can use to create a wide range of beautiful one-off pieces.  You will be shown many examples and demonstrations before starting your own explorations. We use water based acrylic paints and simple, easily found materials to create interesting textures.  You will initially be working with plants and foliage to create botanical inspired prints then moving onto making stencils, printing on fabric, card-making, collage and mixed media pieces. No experience or drawing skills are necessary. Course cost includes materials for the term. Gelli-plate equipment provided but available to buy from the tutor, if required. 

    Patchwork, Quilting and Applique - Beginners & Improvers

    Beginners & Improvers. 7-9pm - Tuesday. Margaret Wightman.
    Beginners will learn to recognise specialist equipment, choose fabrics, use a rotary cutter, ruler and board to cut fabric accurately. Once the skills are mastered, you will be able to make a simple quilt or throw using the technique of ‘Disappearing 9 patch’.  A sewing machine is essential to put the fabrics together and then quilt the Patchwork quilt/throw. Some work can be hand sewn.

    Patchwork, Quilting and Applique - Intermediate

    Intermediate. 7-9pm - Wednesday. Margaret Wightman.
    These sessions will be run on a workshop basis allowing the students to follow their own interests and building on their Patchwork/Quilting skills. You will look at the technique Sashiko and create an item of your own choice - this could be a jacket, cushion, bag. etc. You will also look at the technique of stitch and flip to create Christmas cards, wall hangings, table runners etc. 
    A sewing machine will be needed.

    Photography for Beginners 

    Beginners. 7-9pm - Tuesday -  Richard Sells.
    For students new to photography.  Discover the power of manual mode on your camera and unlock your creativity. By controlling things like shutter speed and aperture, while developing your understanding of composition, you will begin to capture the images you’ve always wanted.  A balance between theory and practical.  Opportunities to test and develop your new learning and capture some great images and learn about editing software. DSLR or Mirrorless camera with a manual setting, at least one lens, and a memory card needed.  Tripod recommended, but not essential. 

    Pilates

    All Levels. 6-7pm - Tuesday. Carla Vickers.
    Learn to move safely through a sequence of Pilates exercises with ease, flow and grace or develop your current practice. Understand and apply the Pilates Principles of alignment, breath control, core engagement, relaxation and concentration. Improve posture, strength, stability, balance, coordination, flexibility and mobility and prevent injuries. Learn to go about your daily life in a balanced, graceful, and positive way, bringing peace and happiness into your life. 
     Pilates mat needed.
