Corridors Buzz as Over 1,000 Visitors Attend Spectacular Open Evening

Prince Henry’s Grammar School opened its doors to over 1,000 attendees on Monday, 5 October 2026, for its annual Open Evening. Throughout the spectacular night, the school’s corridors were buzzing with excitement as families from local primary schools flooded the campus to experience the school's "Outstanding" educational provision firsthand.
The energetic evening showcased a massive variety of interactive, hands-on activities, the dedicated Sports Centre, and the outdoor 3G pitch. Prospective students and their parents explored everything from a mathematical murder mystery and French breakfasts to coding Scratch games, live student band rehearsals, and exciting Chemistry flame tests. Headteacher Sally Bishop also delivered three packed presentations in the Main Hall alongside Year 7 students who shared their own insights into life at Prince Henry’s.
Feedback collected from the evening was overwhelmingly positive, with parents and children praising the vibrant energy, variety of activities and engaging displays. Visitors highly commended the teaching staff for their friendliness and passion, while Prince Henry's student helpers earned immense praise for being exceptionally helpful, polite, and proud of their school. As one visiting parent noted: "Fantastic—welcoming staff and enthusiastic, mature, personable student helpers. No improvements needed."
Reflecting on the success of the night, Headteacher Sally Bishop stated: "The buzz in our corridors was unmatched, driven by the dedication of our staff and the pride of our students. Looking Ahead: Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 5 November 2026
Building on the momentum of this event, Prince Henry’s Grammar School is preparing to showcase its outstanding post 16 provision. Current Year 11 students from across the region are invited to the Sixth Form Open Evening, which will take place on Thursday, 5 November 2026, starting at 6.30pm. The event will provide a detailed look at the wide range of A-Level and Level 3 courses, enrichment opportunities, and dedicated facilities available to Sixth Form students. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the dedicated post-16 facilities and speak directly with specialist subject tutors and the Sixth Form team.
