Year 9 students master Life-Saving CPR in "Restart a Heart" Event

Over 250 Year 9 students have been officially equipped with the skills to save a life, following a comprehensive CPR training event held at the school on 16th October 2026.
The interactive session was delivered as part of the nationwide Restart a Heart Day campaign, an initiative led by the Resuscitation Council UK alongside regional emergency services to increase cardiac arrest survival rates.
Medical professionals from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service led the practical workshops. Students took part in hands-on training to master chest compressions, learned how to recognize a cardiac arrest, and watched a video demonstration to understand the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Adding a personal connection to the day, one of the visiting paramedics was former Prince Henry’s student Chris Kenworthy, who returned to his old school corridors to help train the next generation of potential lifesavers.
