Chippindale Pool

Following a competitive tender process to run the Chippindale Pool at Prince Henry’s Grammar School in Otley, in partnership with the school, the Collaborative Learning Trust is pleased to announce that the tender has been awarded to InGear Swim Ltd.

InGear are a local company who have run swimming lessons, holiday clubs and community swims at Chippindale Pool and other venues locally for many years.

Prince Henry’s Headteacher Sally Bishop said “We are looking forward to working with InGear to secure the future of the Chippindale Pool as an asset for the school and the community. During the process, their passion for involving the community in the future of the pool was obvious. It has been amazing to see the increase in opportunities for local people with the building of the Community 3G Pitch and we hope that this partnership, with a local company, will produce a similar increase in the Chippindale Pool.”

Lauren Hodgson, InGear Swim Ltd Director said “Having used the school’s facilities for the past 8 years to run our swimming lessons and holiday clubs, this next step is a hugely exciting milestone for us. We’re committed to making the Chippindale Pool more accessible than ever to the people of Otley and the wider community, outside school hours. We’re really looking forward to working closely with the school to develop new initiatives, activities, and programmes that will benefit both students and local residents. Our aim is to enhance community access, promote health and wellbeing, and continue to offer high-quality opportunities & swimming lessons for children and families.”

InGear Swim Ltd will be developing the programme of activities for September 2025 onwards over the next few months. If you would like to join their mailing list, please email Lauren at info@ingearswim.co.uk

The Chippindale Pool in Otley was operated by Prince Henry's Grammar School in partnership with Leeds City Council for many years. Leeds withdrew from the arrangement in October 2024, as part of their cost-saving measures.
